Here is my latest sword from Spain, hand-forged in Toledo. Spanish swords were considered the best in the world back in the day when swords were the weapons of choice and the best swords were made in Toledo. This one is modeled on a Moorish blade, carried by the North African Moors who conquered and ruled Spain for hundreds of years.

One of the perks of a pilgrimage on the Camino de Santiago is a side trip to Toledo. Often referred to as Santa Toledo, it was once the capital of Spain and seat of the Church (thus the origination of our phrase Holy Toledo!). Toledo remains a classic city to visit and one of the only places in the world to buy a hand-made sword. Which you may not realize you need, until you hold one and decide you need one, or two, or whatever.
